Accessibility

Waterrow Touring Park caters for caravans, motorhomes and tents and has an Elizabethan cottage to rent. It is easily accessible by good roads from the M5, Taunton and Tiverton.

The Park has 8 acres of slightly sloping landscaped area with riverside walks, dog walking field and beautiful views from all pitches. There are many public footpaths for walkers in the area, which are accessible directly from the Park.

All of the pitches, except the separate tenting area, are level hardstanding pitches. The surface is loose either 10mm round stone or 20mm clean stone with a hard base. Some pitches have grass alongside and all are equipped to put the cars on hard standing alongside the vans. There are five fully serviced pitches and plenty of water points. Assistance on arrival is provided for siting of all units.

The road around the site and access to the amenity block, which is central to the site, has a firm but slightly uneven surface. The amenity block has a flight of four steps to enter and a further two steps for the toilet blocks.

A separate wet room for disabled is provided with shower, w.c., hand basin, shaving point and hair dryer, fully equipped with grab rails, alarm system and radar key. This unit has accessibility via the owners’ yard area which is level concrete suitable for wheelchairs and is generally available from 8 am – 10 pm, not during the night for security reasons.

Mobile telephone coverage is poor and a public telephone is provided. Wifi is available across the Park. A TV booster is available at all electric points on the Park.

There is a local taxi, doctors’ surgery and veterinary practice which all operate from Wiveliscombe and relevant telephone numbers are displayed in the public telephone area.

There is a local bus service operating near the entrance of the site which goes regularly (hourly) to Taunton, Bampton, South Molton and other areas.

There are water points and fire points adjacent to the Park road which are accessible by car, all within approximately 50 metres of each pitch.

There is a motorhome service bay providing water and waste points

The reception area has a stoned patio area in front of it with a stone slab path to provide access for wheelchairs. The reception also provides basic provisions, maps, gas, etc.

Access to the cottage is through the concrete yard area, with parking for two vehicles. There are steps inside the cottage between living areas.

Access to Painting Studio (Millennium Barn) is through the owners’ concrete yard, together with a gently sloping path. There is also vehicular access to the barn.

Although we have tried to be as accurate as possible and include as much detail as we can, we are always willing to give further information on aspects of the Park.
